Dangle League Announces 2024 Season
The newly formed Dangle League will open its inaugural season this summer on July 11th at Braemar Arena in Edina, MN. Four teams will play an eight game schedule with all games being played out during the week, leaving the weekends open for Minnesotans to do Minnesotan things during the summer months.
The sister league to the Celly League has thought through the nuances of summer hockey to provide an experience the players will enjoy while providing an opportunity for them to play competitive hockey games while challenging themselves in a league environment. Each team will comprise 12 forwards, 6 defense and 2 goalies. Sub players will only be called upon if a team will have less than 12 total players with the goal to create a ‘team’ atmosphere.
Each Dangle League team will be coached by Celly League players who will be implementing some systems, especially special teams, for their players to learn and work through together. The goal is to provide some structure yet not impact the player’s creativity. Coaches will be coaching to win to facilitate a competitive league yet will not be shortening benches until the final five minutes of the game, if they see it necessary.
The new league website is TheDangleLeague.com and was created to be much like the CellyLeague.com site. Player profiles, scoring, stats, standings, news, video, and podcasts can be found on the league website and will be the one place to find all necessary information and news.
All games will stream live on MNHockey.Tv and will consist of announcers and plenty of in-game enhancements such as replay, multiple camera angles and statistical data. Each player will have access to Spiideo’s AutoData24 which will provide an opportunity for each player to gain access to their shifts, and broken down by moments that will serve as a recruiting and player development tool for each player.
All Division I coaches and USA hockey will be given free access to stream games at any time they would like. The DangleLeague is currently making player announcements on Instagram and X/Twitter the same way Celly does.
Schedules and rosters will be posted soon and the DangleLeague is excited to get started on this inaugural season. The Dangle Leaguers are the future Celly Leaguers and we hope you can join us!
