Tradition Mortgage Shuts Out Performance Office Papers to Close Dangle League Regular Season

The Dangle League regular season came to a close Thursday night with two teams heading in opposite directions. Tradition Mortgage, already locked into fourth place, carried momentum into the playoffs with a disciplined 3-0 shutout win over Performance Office Papers, who finish the year on a four-game skid.

Performance Office Papers entered the night averaging just two goals per game and were hoping to reignite their offense before next week’s playoffs. Instead, they were stymied at every turn by the goaltending tandem of Bella Prosser (Maple Grove) and Taylor Thompson (Forest Lake), who combined for 22 saves to secure the clean sheet.

After a scoreless first half marked by tight checking and strong defensive positioning, Tradition broke through early in the second. Abigail Sklavenitis (Forest Lake) buried the eventual game-winner at 2:58, set up by Evelyn Lundeen (Chaska/Chanhassen) and Sarah Johnson (Mounds View/Irondale). Just over eight minutes later, Taylor Hall (Breck) doubled the lead, finishing a feed from Alexa Bricko (Woodbury) and Riley Iverson (Academy of Holy Angels).

Performance Office Papers pushed to get back into it, but Prosser and Thompson split the work evenly, each turning aside every shot they faced. With just over a minute left, Sklavenitis sealed the win with her second of the night into an empty net, assisted by Johnson.

The loss drops Performance Office Papers to 2-6 on the season and fifth place in the standings, while Tradition closes at 3-5, locked in fourth. Both teams now turn their attention to the postseason, where the margin for error will shrink even further.
