Tradition Mortgage Shoots Their Way to .500 With Commanding Win Over Empowers Performance
Braemar Arena – July 24, 2025
At the midpoint of the Dangle League season, Tradition Mortgage delivered a statement performance, torching the twine in a 7-1 win over Empowers Performance to leap into second place with a 2-2 record.
It was a masterclass in sharp shooting for Tradition, who capitalized on nearly every quality look they generated. Evelyn Lundeen’s (Chaska/Chan) hat trick and assist led her team with four point effort. It was a night where 11 players recorded at least one point.
The tone was set early, with Colleigh Johnson (Blaine) finishing a feed from Chloe King (Holy Family) at 24:11 of the first period. Lundeen doubled the lead just nine minutes later, roofing a pass from Maddie Elfstrand (Maple Grove) for a 2-0 advantage at the break.
Tradition poured it on in the second period with five more tallies. Alexa Bricko (Woodbury) and Lundeen connected twice on two highlight-reel plays—the first at 29:10 and again at 00:29, bookending the second frame. Additional goals from Taylor Hall (Breck), and King padded the lead in what was a relentless offensive push.
Empowers Performance, now 1-3 on the year, got their lone goal from Ella Perrault (Centennial/Spring Lake Park) with just 42 seconds left in the second half to break up the Tradition shutout. Lundeen struck just seconds later to complete the hat trick and set the final margin at 7-1.
Goaltending duties were split for Tradition Mortgage, with Bella Prosser (Maple Grove) and Taylor Thompson (Forest Lake) each playing a half. The tandem combined for 26 saves on 27 shots, with Prosser particularly sharp in the opening frame, turning aside 12 shots to preserve the early lead.
Claire Hills (Andover) stood tall in net for Empowers despite the lopsided scoreline, making 24 saves on 31 shots and facing a barrage of second-period chances with limited support.
With the win, Tradition Mortgage improves to 2-2 and slides into second place in the standings. Empowers Performance, who had hoped to claw back to even at 2-2, instead drops to 1-3 and finds themselves in fifth as the playoff race heats up.
Tradition’s finishing touch and balanced attack made the difference, and with momentum now in hand, they’ll look to ride their hot sticks into the back half of the season.
