Performance Office Papers Pulls Away from MNHockeyTv, 4-2

EDINA, Minn. — Performance Office Papers scored three times in the second half, including an empty net goal with 23 seconds remaining, to earn a 4-2 victory over MNHockeyTv in Dangle League action at the newly renovated Braemar South Arena.

MNHockeyTv controlled the shot count 26-19, but Performance Office Papers received a strong performance from goaltender Gianna Marchese and generated enough timely offense to secure an important win.

MNHockeyTv opened the scoring with 22:15 remaining in the first half. Angie Cody established position near the crease and converted a net front opportunity with a re-direct for the game’s first goal. Maddie Baker collected the primary assist on the shot.

Performance Office Papers answered at 16:42. Mia Sutch finished a quick transition play for her second goal of the season, taking passes from Taylor Miller and Allie DeFauw to tie the game at one.

MNHockeyTv carried a 15-11 advantage in first half shots, but the teams entered the break even on the scoreboard.  They were also in a dead heat territorially for the first half as well. 

Performance Office Papers took its first lead with 19:30 remaining in the second half. Sydney Boss Krohn capitalized around the front of the net, finishing a setup from Elliana Engelhardt and Gwynn Skoogman for her first goal of the season and a 2-1 advantage.

MNHockeyTv responded just over three minutes later and it was Sarah Johnson who scored her third of the summer with 16:12 showing on the clock, pulling MNHockeyTv even at two. Annika Eggert earned an assist on the tying goal.

The decisive moment came with 7:15 remaining. Boss Krohn struck for the second time in the half, finishing a well executed sequence from Skoogman and Alaina Post to restore the Performance Office Papers lead at 3-2. Boss Krohn fired a one-timer off a feed from the right wing in the mid-slot area for the game-winning goal. 

MNHockeyTv pressed for the equalizer and eventually sent goaltender Emma Matack to the bench for an extra attacker. Performance Office Papers held its ground before Sutch collected her second goal of the game into the empty net with 23 seconds remaining. Miller recorded her second assist of the night on the insurance goal.

Marchese stopped 24 of 26 shots to earn the victory, including 14 saves during a first half in which MNHockeyTv carried much of the offensive pressure. Matack finished with 15 saves for MNHockeyTv.

Boss Krohn and Sutch each scored twice for Performance Office Papers, while Skoogman and Miller supplied two assists apiece.

The win moved Performance Office Papers to 2-3 and provided an important boost in a tightly packed Dangle League race. MNHockeyTv fell to 3-1 but remained firmly in the hunt near the top of the five team standings.
