Hepp’s Salt Stays Perfect with Statement Win Over Tradition Mortgage in Dangle League Showdown

Edina, Minn. – July 31, 2025 | Game two of a busy four-game Dangle League night at Braemar Arena featured a much-anticipated clash between league leader Hepp’s Salt (3-0) and third-place Tradition Mortgage (2-2). The matchup pitted the league’s highest-scoring offense against its most airtight defense—and defense won the day.

Hepp’s Salt extended their perfect start to the season with a 3-1 victory, executing a composed, balanced effort that frustrated Tradition’s dynamic scorers. Hepp’s entered the game having allowed just five goals all season, while Tradition boasted a league-best 15 goals scored. Something had to give—and it was Tradition’s firepower that blinked first.

The tone was set early as Hepp’s Salt clamped down in the defensive zone and countered with speed and precision. Brooklyn Mauch (Marshall) got the scoring started at 20:08 of the first half, burying a feed from Hadley Bakker Maple Grove) to give Hepp’s a 1-0 lead. Moments later, Grace Bendickson (BSM) doubled the advantage at 4:36, finishing a beautiful setup from Emme Grinsteinner (Minnetonka) and Audrey Davis (Edina) to make it 2-0.

Despite a second-half push from Tradition, anchored by a goal from Lorelai Nelson (Edina) at 24:53 with help from Chloe King (Holy Family), Hepp’s remained calm and disciplined. Goaltender Kaia Weiland (Centennial) stopped 15 of 16 shots in the first half.

Morgan Goskeson (Albert Lea) sealed the win for Hepp’s Salt with a dagger goal at 10:23 of the second half, assisted by Taryn Richter (Holy Family), restoring the two-goal cushion.

The win moves Hepp’s Salt to 4-0, solidifying their place atop the Dangle League standings. Tradition Mortgage drops to 2-3, still very much in the hunt but now searching for answers against top-tier competition.

Hepp’s Salt has now allowed just 6 goals through 4 games, reinforcing their identity as the Dangle League’s toughest team to score agains
