Hepp’s Salt Stays Perfect in Dangle League with Gritty 4-3 Win Over Performance Office Papers
Braemar Arena – Edina, MN | July 31, 2025 — On a night packed with six games, including the "Next Wave" showcase of 2029 prospects and the crowning of the Celly Cup champion, the Dangle League nightcap brought the energy to the finish line. Hepp’s Salt capped off a two-win evening with a hard-fought 4-3 victory over Performance Office Papers, extending their perfect record to 5-0 and cementing their spot atop the standings.
Performance Office Papers, who earlier in the evening dropped a 2-1 heartbreaker to Empowers Performance, showed no signs of fatigue in the first half They struck first at 21:51 of the opening frame as Grace Gerabi (Hill-Murray) converted a slick feed from Brielle Newton (Mankato East) and Kate Koschinska (Waconia), helping their team to a 1-0 lead after one.
But the second half belonged to Hepp’s Salt.
Down a goal, Hepp’s flipped the switch in the final 27 minutes. Brooklyn Mauch (Marshall) tied things up at 18:30, followed quickly by Claire Sommerfeld’s (Minnetonka) go-ahead tally at 15:46 off a great setup from Grace Bendickson (BSM) and Anika Eggert (Minnetonka).
Performance Office Papers responded with a goal by Mia Sutch (Centennial/Spring Lake Park) to tie the game at two. But Hepp’s once again showed their mettle. Emme Grinsteinner (Minnetonka) reclaimed the one goal lead at 3-2 the at 8:04, and just over two minutes later, Ella Bond (Blake) scored what proved to be the game-winner at 5:47, finishing a feed from Fiona Gallagher (Maple Grove) and Morgan Goskeson (Albert Lea) to make it 4-2.
Elliana Engelhardt (Hill-Murray) 1:05 later, putting the pressure squarely back on Hepp’s Salt with time winding down.
Both goalies were sharp in a high-event second half. Kaia Weiland (Centennial/Spring Lake Park and Janie McGawn (Blake) split duties for Hepp’s Salt, combining for 21 saves on 24 shots, while Kayla Swartout (Holy Family) and Gianna Marchese (Rosemount) turned away 14 of 17 shots for Performance Office Papers.
Hepp’s Salt remains the lone undefeated team in Dangle League play at 5-0, while Performance Office Papers, now 2-4, have dropped back-to-back one-goal games in heartbreaking fashion. With two games left on their schedule, they'll look to regroup quickly as the playoff race tightens.
