Hepp’s Salt Holds Off Late Surge to Edge Tradition Mortgage 5–3 in Dangle League Action
Edina, Minnesota – July 10, 2025
Hepp’s Salt stormed out to an early five-goal lead and withstood a furious second-half rally by Tradition Mortgage to claim a 5–3 victory in a high-tempo Dangle League matchup on Thursday night at Braemar Arena.
From the opening puck drop, Hepp’s Salt controlled the pace, racking up four goals in the first half and outshot Tradition Mortgage 17–12 in the frame. Their offensive depth was on full display, with goals coming from Alexa Larson (North Wright County), Morgan Goskeson (Albert Lea), Audrey Davis (Edina), and Grace Bendickson (BSM). Crisp puck movement and effective zone entries overwhelmed the TM defense early.
The highlight reel came alive at 12:03, when Davis finished off a draw won by Larson to extend the lead to 3–0 as she went top shelf to the glove hand. Just over ten minutes later, Bendickson capped the dominant frame with a tap-in from the low slot—her goal assisted by Fiona Gallagher (Maple Grove) and Laina Peterson (Mankato East).
Second Period Turnaround
Trailing 5–0 after a goal by Hepp’s Hadley Bakker (Maple Grove) in the second, Tradition Mortgage found life. They tightened up defensively and started to chip away at the deficit. Their first tally came on the power play at 9:47, with Taylor Hall (Breck) converting off a point shot from Lizzy Callahan (Mound-Westonka/Southwest Christian) and Alexis Ulrich (Breck).
That goal seemed to open the floodgates. Just over two minutes later, Abigail Sklavenitis (Forest Lake) buried a rebound to make it 4–2, assisted by Sarah Johnson (Mounds View). Then, at 5:29, Evelyn Lundeen (Chaska/Chanhassen) brought TM within one, snapping home a low wrister off assists from Callahan and Lilly Horton (Edina).
Hepp’s Salt goalie Taylor Thompson (Forest Lake) stood tall under pressure, making 21 saves on 26 shots, including several key stops during the TM surge. Tradition Mortgage split duties between Ruby Simet (Holy Family Catholic) and Sedona Blair (UNH), who combined for 24 saves on 29 shots.
Hepp’s Salt improves their standing in the Dangle League to 3-0, showing off their early-game execution and ability to weather late pressure. For Tradition Mortgage (1-2), the comeback effort showed character, but the opening period hole proved too deep to climb out of.
