Big wins for Empowers and Hepp's

Edina, MN - The Dangle League had a full menu of games on the slate Thursday night as all four teams were in action from Braemar Arena.  Two teams got out to quick starts in the first half of their games and both went on to win comfortably.  Empowers Performance downed Tradition Mortgage 4-1 while Hepp’s Salt Co. turned aside Performance Paper Products 7-1. 


Empowers 4 - Tradition Mortgage 1

Empowers Performance charged to a 4-0 lead after one half and finished with 4-1 win over Tradition Mortgage.  Jaycee Chatleain had 2 goals, Senja Leeper 1g-1a, and Maya Engler 1g-1a to pace the way for Empowers.


Empowers came in waves in the first half with several quality scoring chances on Ashlyn Hazlett.  Zoe Rimstad made 23 saves in the first half to insure the 4-0 lead and picked up the win in goal. Lorelai Nelson scored the lone Tradition goal on a nifty give-and-go play from the right corner with Whitney Horton after Katya Sander started the play from the right point. 


The win lifted Empowers to a 1-0-1 record on the season while Tradition fell to 0-1-1.  


Hepp’s Salt Co. 7 - Performance Paper Products 1

The two unbeaten teams faced off in the nightcap of the Dangle League from Braemar Arena.  Hepp’s had considerable jump to start the game and shot out to a 4-0 lead on goals by Ruby Rauk (2), Nora Carstensson, and Zoe Lopez.  


McKenzie Perry stopped the surge for Hepp’s momentarily with a goal for Performance with 8:13 remaining in the first half.  The slowing of Hepp’s only lasted :26 as Abby Broz opened up the 5-1 lead.  


Laini Gnetz had 3 assists and Carstenson had a 3 point game of her own with a goal and 2 assists. Six other members of Hepp’s had two point games as they spread the wealth impressively.  Ida Huber made 14 saves for the win in goal for Hepp’s Salt.  


The Dangle League is back in action with one game on July 23rd and another game on July 25th from Braemar Arena.
